Auslandsaufenthalte in Genf und London, sowie Studienreisen nach Bali, Java,
Thailand, Indien, Nepal, Südamerika und in die USA gaben ihr die nötige Inspiration für
Ihre künstlerische Ausbildung, die sie 1980 im Atelier des Bildenden Künstlers
Gabor Török in Frankurt am Main begann. Es schloss sich 1984 ein Gaststudium der Bildhauerei in Bangkok/Thailand an der Siklpakorn-University /International Collage an . Von 1987-95 lebte die Malerin in Amsterdam mit Aufenthalt als "Artist in Residence" bei der Performance-Künstlerin Marina Abramovic, dort prägten Studien der Vipassana Lehre /Kontemplation /Art/ ihr künstlerisches Wirken. Die langjährige Zusammenarbeit mit dem Regisseur Michael Laub des Tanztheaters „Remote Controle Productions“ waren inspiriende Elemente ihres künstlerischen Werdeganges.
In ihrer Zeit nach den Reisen und Auslandserfahrungen entschied sie sich, philosophische, archaischeThemen zu wählen und diese künstlerisch zu übermitteln, es entsteht eine Malerei der Kontemplation,eine Auseinandersetzung mit dem Heiligen und dem Profanen, der Reflektion mit dem Selbst und der Wahrnehmung von Zeit und Raum.

Christina Behret, born in Schlehdorf, Kochel am See.
Stays abroad in Geneva and London, and study trips to Bali, Java, Thailand, India, Nepal, South America and the USA gave her the inspiration she needed for her artistic training, which she began in 1980 in the studio of visual artist Gabor Török in Frankurt am Main. In 1984, a residency in sculpture followed in Bangkok,Thailand at the Silpakorn University International College.
From 1987 to 1995, the painter lived in Amsterdam as “Artist in Residence” with the performance artist Marina Abramovic, where studies of Vipassana teachings/contemplation/art characterised her artistic work. Many years of collaboration with the director Michael Laub of the dance theatre “Remote Control Productions” were sources of inspiration for her artistic development.
After her travels and experiences abroad, she decided to choose philosophical, archaic themes and convey them artistically, thus developing a painting style full of contemplation and exploring the sacred and the profane, reflection with the self and the perception of time and space.
